Our Hawaii "Ohana"

Today we took a group photo of our friends, I think there are 46 of us in this picture. It is hard to believe I have lived here for 10 years and only knew one person and now I have a family of 46 :) We are sad to have The Stampfers to New York, MacDonalds to Germany, Melanie to Pennsylvania, and Kristen and Chris to the Big Island. However we are not saying goodbye but celebrating the future!! I just love this picture!!! Rich, Lisa's husband brought his camera and tripod and was able to get a wonderful picture!!! Jackson was upset because we had to take him away from the portuguese horseshoes :)

Family Photo

Well, trying to get a picture with a toddler is quite a chore. As you can see Jackson wasn't having any part of it. We weren't able to get a perfect. Jackson was too interested in playing with the portuguese horseshoes.

An alternative use for the potty

Jackson has been going on the potty at certain times, for example when he first wakes up and when he takes a bath. However, lately he has decided to use it as a step stool.

What are you doing?

Every week Claudia sends us pictures of the kids and their adventures. We are really going to miss her when she leaves May 31. Here is Jackson hopefully pretending to be a super hero. Who knows what he is doing, but I do know he is having loads of fun!

Lately, Jackson has limited patience and gets upset when something doesn't go his way :( I can't wait till he talks more and can express himself with words instead of crying and kicking... I wasn't even near him and went to check on him because he was so quiet. I was so proud of him that he got his shoes on the right feet all by himself, that I went and got the camera and was only able to capture the end result.. a meltdown because he couldn't tie them or I was there and saw what he had done...

Jackson's 1st Easter Egg Hunt

Jackson's Easter Basket, We decided to get Jackson a chair for Easter to take to the beach. His basket also had bubbles and some rash guards for the beach. The Little People basket was his prize for finding the lucky egg at the hunt!

The other day this is what I found... Jackson in the midst of a baby powder explosion. Mind you we never leave the baby powder open. However, this time he was able to open the travel version all on his own. In the video he is actually saying cheese. How can you say no to this cute little boy...

Jackson loves to build with his mega blocks and legos. The best part is seeing how tall the tower becomes and then he knocks it over.

After being in the house all day with the tsunami warning, we decided to go out to eat at Bubba Gumps. Jackson has a wonderful time, they have lots of kiddie toys for the kids to play with while you are waiting for a table or food. It is a great restaurant for kids because it is loud and lots of things to look at :)

Tsunami in Hawaii

We found out about the tsunami at 2 in the morning on Saturday, February 27, 2010. Thank goodness for technology because they were able to warn us many hours before the actual tsunami came. We were lucky because the tsunami came in the form of a 5 foot swell instead of a wave. They had predicted a 10 foot wave but I am just fine with a swell. So in the past 10 years of living in Hawaii I have been through a 3 week teaching strike, an earthquake, and now a tsunami. The last two events from mother nature have occurred on the weekend and would have been great if it was on a work day :) We just spent the day with our eyes glued to the tv watching the swell come in and let Jackson play in the water. When the alert was over at 2pm, we decided to head out of the house to dinner downtown.
