Just hanging out waiting for some food!

Emilie and Andrew are just about done with baby food.  They love eggs, yogurt, bananas, strawberries, and most definitely blueberries!  They will eat just about anything except green beans seem to find their way on the floor.  We haven't really found any allergies to anything yet.  The other day Emilie found Jackson's peanut butter and jelly and devoured it.  Andrew was not in to it yet.

Can you see the prairie dogs?  I can't believe how they look so fake!  There were over 100 running around.

Jackson's first report!

Jackson's first report was on a bear.  He had to know a couple facts about it and then present them to other children.  It was along the lines of learning about the circus so each child dressed up in circus apparel to present their facts.

I whipped up this shirt in an hour with Jackson's help because let's just say I didn't realize I needed to create an outfit for his presentation....

Telling the groups all about where bears live and other facts.

Family Visitors

Auntie Darlene, Nana and GG came to visit us over the birthday weekend!  We were so glad they could come and help decorate for the luau and clean-up!  Auntie Darlene came from Tennessee and we wish she lived closer so she could come and visit us more often!

Happy Birthday Andrew and Emilie

We survived the first year with twins!  I can't believe Andrew and Emilie are a year old.  They both have about 7 teeth and are crawling all around with their toys.  We don't have walkers yet but I am sure that won't be the case by the end of summer. Andrew's first word was "up or uppy" and Emilie's first word was "dada"  Occasionally I will hear mama but not as much as I thought I would :)

Andrew and Emilie's First Birthday Luau

We decided that we would have a Luau to celebrate Andrew and Emilie's birthday!  About 30 adults and 25 kids came to the event. The weather was great and we were so happy to celebrate their first year with family and friends!  Pinterest definitely made the workload more intense with all of their ideas but what else would I do with my time!  I borrowed a lot of crockpots and got started on the food the night before.  The kitchen was filled with 8 crockpots! The menu was Kalua Pig and Cabbage, Huli Huli Chicken, rice, macaroni salad, garden salad, pasta salad, fruit kabobs, and of course pineapple and cupcakes.   Mike was in charge of the Tiki Bar!
Family Photo before our guests arrived!

We made sure to greet everyone with a proper Hawaiian Greeting of a hug and a lei!

We were able to get a Hula Dancer to come and dance for us and teach our guests the hula!

Happy Birthday Emilie!
